Check the Polls – Oppose the LIES!

BALLOTS ARE ARRIVING…

… for everyone in California, and for many across the country. Look in the Green Voter Guide to help with CA state propositions and other races. You will find a “voter card” HERE. For a link to a PDF of the entire publication, see the line above the “Please note” paragraph.

CHECK THE POLLS – CHOOSE YOUR STATE

This great site https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/california/ gives us an average of 2020 presidential general election polls – great information! It includes an option to see national polling. The graph shows that California has a steady 30-point spread between 60% Biden and 30% Trump. If the spread in your state is 15 points or more in any direction, then you have lots of room to cast your vote for a party committed to justice, ecology, peace, and real democracy, without corporate money. Vote for the Green Party team of Howie Hawkins and Angela Walker, and start pushing front-runner Biden now. Push for improved Medicare for All, and for addressing climate change and the economy with a strong, real, Green New Deal.

OPPOSE THE PROPAGANDA

When you vote Green, don’t let anyone perpetuate the false story that your vote is wasted, or that it is a vote for the opposition! There’s a good piece on why that story is a propaganda myth used since 2000 to scare voters away from alternative-party candidates, HERE.

VOTE YES ON PROP 15 IN CALIFORNIA – OPPOSE INEQUALITY

The Schools and Communities First initiative protects residential property — homeowners and renters — and helps small businesses. If you have any questions after all the opposing things you may have seen and heard, please go HERE. Ask your friends to vote YES; the lies are strong.

FOLLOW THE MONEY — AND VOTE THE OTHER WAY!!!

One almost foolproof way to know which way to vote is to see where a lot of money is being spent on mailers and advertising, and vote in the opposite direction! As one example, you can be sure the opposition to Prop 15 is funded by tax-avoiding corporations and the super wealthy who want to keep their tax breaks. They use focus groups to figure out what messages will sway us, and then feature people that seem like us to deliver those messages.

And finally, before the election and after…

VOTE OR PROTEST? THE ANSWER IS YES!!

Howard Zinn, author of A People’s History of the United States, knew one does not have to choose between voting and protesting. He said,
• “Voting is easy and marginally useful, but it is a poor substitute for democracy, which requires direct action by concerned citizens.”
• “Protest beyond the law is not a departure from democracy; it is absolutely essential to it.”

Yes, there are alternatives, and another world is possible.
